FOX: ‘Touch’ Renewed… ‘Alcatraz,’ ‘The Finder’ Canceled

Kind of a mixed bag on this one.  We are, of course, thrilled that FOX has announced that they will bring back the Kiefer Sutherland/Tim Kring science fiction series, Touch for a second season.  As we noted in our review, we think Touch is the best new series of the 2012 – 2013 season and it just keeps getting better.

On a more disappointing note, Alcatraz has been canceled as has the Bones spinoff, The Finder.  We loved Alcatraz but we get why it had a hard time finding an audience.  Serialized science fiction revolving mysteries and time-travel just aren’t going to work on a major network.

We liked The Finder, too, and we’re a little surprised that it couldn’t succeed.  It really was just the type of quirky procedural that fans of Bones should have jumped on.
